Alley near Main Street to be reconstructed

An alley near Main Street will get a new look over the summer.
The Austin City Council selected to Doyle Conner Co. to reconstruct the alley west of Main Street from Third Avenue Northwest south the dead end over the summer.
The work includes reconstruction of pavement, storm sewers and electrical work.
The engineer’s estimate was $78,238.50 and Doyle Conner Co.’s bid was the lowest at $98,321.15.
The only other bid received was Pember Companies Inc.’s bid was the higher at $101,149.50.
Austin Public Works Director Steven Lang said the projects will be funded using street reconstruction fund 49 and stormwater fund 67.
