INTERNATIONAL FALLS — Authorities say six people have been arrested in the death of a woman who was found critically injured at a park in central Minnesota.
The Koochiching County Sheriff’s Office said Monday that five of the suspects in 19-year-old Cheyenne Clough’s death were arrested near the Canadian border, but it’s unclear whether any of them were trying to flee the country. The Star Tribune reports that the sixth suspect was arrested after a traffic stop in Staples.
Clough, of Buffalo, was found unresponsive last Wednesday at Crow Springs County Park in Wright County. She died Saturday at a hospital in Robbinsdale.
The Hennepin County medical examiner’s office said Monday that Clough died of multiple gunshot wounds.
Authorities believe Clough was acquainted with two of the suspects before the attack.
