The Austin Municipal Pool made a splash on its opening day of summer Monday afternoon as children and parents of all ages came out to enjoy the pool.
“I’m [looking forward to] a warm, hot summer,” Austin Parks and Rec Director Kim Underwood said.
A new addition to the pool this year are lockers on the pool deck. They are free to use and half of the lockers have Push-Button Padlocks already on them, although people are encouraged to bring their own.
The pool hours have changed slightly as well. Open swim will be held from 1-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday; 7-8:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday; 1-6 p.m. Saturday and 2-7 p.m. on Sunday.
Adult lap swim will be held noon to 1 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Season membership is $30 per person and ages 2 and under are free. Daily admission is $3 in the afternoon and $2 for the three evening swims.
“I want everyone to enjoy their summer and check out the pool,” said Underwood.
