An Austin meat processor received a state safety award for the second straight year.
Quality Pork Processors Inc. of Austin received the Meritorious Achievement Award for Safety at the Governor’s Award Banquet at the Minnesota State Safety Conference last month in Minneapolis.
The award is based on an application with several years of data and is scored according to the organizations comprehensive Safety programs. This award is presented to organizations in Minnesota who have demonstrated a low safety incident record and have safety programs which are better than the industry’s average for at least three years.
QPP officials say the award demonstrates that employees are making a genuine effort to be safe while on the job. The company congratulated all QPP employees for a safe workplace with the recognition by the Minnesota State Safety Council in receiving the Meritorious Achievement Governor’s Workplace Safety Award.
