An Austin woman is opening her doors to do her part to raise funds to fight human trafficking on Saturday.

Katie Ulwelling, who lives at 710 Fourth Ave. NE, is hosting a fundraiser with the proceeds going to 300M4FREEDOM — which is a 300-mile triathlon that Austin’s Kelly Nesvold is undertaking to fight human trafficking.

The evening will run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and everyone is welcome.

At 6:45 p.m. a person from Mission 21 of Rochester will speak on human trafficking before Jesse Smith and Joshua Whalen perform an acoustic set from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

“Jesse had approached me about having an event to raise money for something and we all liked Kelly’s cause,” Ulwelling said. “We’re just trying to fight human trafficking. We realize what a huge issue it is in the state of Minnesota.”

Anyone attending can bring his or her own blanket or chair and Ulwelling’s pool will be open for swimming.

The cost for adults is $5 and kids can come for free.
