LP’s Bollingberg named Class A baseball player of the year

Lyle-Pacelli baseball standout was named Class A baseball player of the year at the MSHSBCA All-Star series banquet Thursday.

Bollingberg had a huge impact in leading the Athletics to the Section 1A tournament this spring. He pitched three postseason games in a week to boost them and his bat was a force all year long.

Bollingberg finished the season with 65 and 1/3 innings on the hill with an ERA of 1.07. He struck out 71, while allowing just 65 hits and four walks.

At the plate, he hit .563 with eight doubles, three triples, one home run and 19 RBIs to go with 40 stolen bases.

Bollingberg, who will play college baseball at the University of Saint Thomas in the Twin Cities, is playing for Austin Post 91 and the Austin Greyhounds this summer.
