Brooklyn Park man, 58, drowns in Itasca County lake

BATTLE POINT — Authorities say a suburban Twin Cities man has drowned in a northern Minnesota lake.
The Itasca County Sheriff’s Office was called at about 9:20 a.m. Tuesday on a report that someone was floating in the water and that a boat was going in circles on Cut Foot Sioux Lake near Battle Point.
Officials with the Itasca County Sheriff’s Office, Itasca County Search and Rescue, Leech Lake and Department of Natural Resources responded to the scene.
The sheriff’s office says the man has been identified as 58-year-old Michael Angelo Olynick of Brooklyn Park.
No other details were available late Tuesday.
