Jean Ann Cahalan, 88, of Mason City, Iowa, died Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.

Jean Ann was born June 28, 1918, in Duluth, Minnesota, the daughter of Orville and Viola (Anderson) Jorgenson. She married George T. Cahalan June 25, 1949, in Mason City. Jean Ann worked at Iowa Kemper Mutual Insurance for many years as a secretary. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, PEO Chapter KW, numerous Bridge groups and the steak club. She enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jean Ann is survived by her daughter, Julie (John) Stevenson of Austin, Minnesota; two grandchildren, Travis Stevenson and fiancé Amy of Red Wing, Minnesota and Emily (Eric) Frank of Eagan, Minnesota; three great grandchildren, Kole, Nadine and Rhys; sister-in-law, Jean Marie (Jim) Wright of Mason City; several nieces and nephews.

Jean Ann was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George in 1987 and special friend, Dr. Jerome Biebesheimer.

Memorial services will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Pastor Kathy Graves officiating. Private family interment will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N.
