Lois A. Osmundson, 96, of Adams, Minnesota, died Thursday, June 30, 2016, at Cedar Court Apartments in Adams, where she had resided since January of 2010.

A lifetime resident of Adams, Lois Arlene Christenson was born March 30, 1920, in Adams, the daughter of Henry and Rachel Christenson. She was the youngest of five girls and was born and raised on the family farm on the east side of Adams. She graduated from Adams High School in 1937. After high school, she went to work in Rochester and was employed by the Kahler Drug Store where she had the opportunity to meet and serve the Mayo brothers. In September of 1941 Lois married Lee Osmundson. One of six brothers, Lee served in the Pacific during World War II and went to work with his brothers in building the Osmundson Bros. Construction Co.

Lois was a lifelong member of Little Cedar Lutheran Church and a 56 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved to travel and enjoyed many wonderful winters in Sun City West, Arizona. Knitting, crocheting, doing the newspaper crypt, as ell as being known for her wonderful cooking were some of her favorite hobbies. Being with family was always the joy of her life.

Lois was the beloved matriarch of the Osmundson family. She was the glue that held the family together. Lois taught her children and others close to her how to be strong and live with the ups and downs of life. She will be sorely missed by her family and all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lee, four sisters and great grandchild Tyler Poshusta.

Survivors include her four daughters, Carol (Lynn) Lagerstedt of Adams, Linda (Don) Crace of Seattle, Washington, Susan (Steve) Holmquist of St. Cloud, Minnesota, and Kathie (Ron) Wolff of Wayzata, Minnesota; her son, Jon (Lori) Osmundson of Owatonna, Minnesota; 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at Little Cedar Lutheran Church with the Rev. Jeremy Johnson officiating. Interment will be at Little Cedar Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Adams Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2016, and at the church for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
