More than $5,000 worth of construction equipment was reported stolen Thursday from a site in rural Dexter.
CR Holland Crane Service of Forest City, Iowa, reported skid loader equipment — a fork, bucket and jib — a hydraulic wench and some chains were taken sometime Wednesday night or early Thursday, according to Mower County Sheriff Terese Amazi.
Due to the heavy weight of the equipment, Amazi said it likely took several people to take the equipment.
CR Holland Crane Service is doing road work in the area and has an off-road construction site near 700th Avenue and 350th Street, which Amazi described as a rural area surrounded by cornfields.
