Get to Know: Austin senior Paige Raymond

Austin senior Paige Raymond is on the Austin girls soccer team. The Packers will play Northfield 7 p.m. Thursday.
Q: What sports do you play?
A: I am on the soccer, gymnastics, and track teams.
Q: How did you originally get into soccer?
A: When I was younger my dad was the head coach of the girls team. We would go and watch his team play and I thought it looked like so much fun. So when I had the opportunity to start playing through the YMCA I took it.
Q: What’s your favorite sports memory?
A: Being on the same teams as my sister. We’ve made so many good memories spending time together.
Q: What have you learned from playing sports?
A: Through sports I have developed a strong work ethic and leadership skills.
Q: What is the hardest part about soccer?
A: Being patient enough to allow plays to develop instead of just running at the net.
Q: Who is your biggest sports role model and why?
A: My dad. He is both a soccer and gymnastics coach, so he is very knowledgeable and helpful.
Q: What is your favorite movie or TV show?
A: I love the show How I Met Your Mother.
Q: What is your favorite subject in school?
A: Math.
Q: What is your dream job?
A: I think it would be really fun to own a bakery.
Q: What is your favorite food?
A: Alfredo with chicken and broccoli.
Q: What are your plans after high school?
A: Attend a 4-year university to pursue a degree in either the medical field or finance.
Q: What’s a fun fact about you or hobby you enjoy most people don’t know about?
A: I love to water ski, especially because it is something I do with my whole family.
Q: What are your top three pump songs before a big game?
A: The CD that the team makes for our warm up always gets me pumped to play.
Q: What are your top three guilty pleasure songs?
A: Anything Justin Bieber. I listen to his CD on repeat in my car.
