A Minneapolis man had sex with a 15-year-old runaway in St. Paul and arranged to post ads for sex acts with the girl, according to charges filed in Ramsey County District Court this week.
Darius Courtney Bryant, 35, was charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct and promoting the prostitution of a person younger than 18.
Bryant, also known to the victim as “KD,” contacted her though Facebook in 2015. The girl was 15 years old at the time. Bryant wrote to her about how to make money as a prostitute, according to the criminal complaint.
They met in late September or early October 2015, and Bryant took her to a house on McAfee Street in St. Paul. There, he had sex with her and took pictures of her, charges said. Bryant then dropped her off on Lake Street “with instructions to make money,” according to the complaint.
The victim told investigators that she didn’t see Bryant again after he dropped her off and he kept the money she made from having sex with people who responded to online ads Bryant helped arrange, according to the charges.
Bryant’s Facebook account includes references to his role as “a self-proclaimed pimp” and his messages discuss the “pimping, recruiting, or the branding” of “his girls,” the complaint said.
