Letter: Independence Party candidate excluded from Farm Fest debate

Published 10:33 am Wednesday, August 6, 2008

This past Tuesday, I was unfairly excluded from the U.S. Senate Farm Fest debate. But rather than complain about the arbitrary ruling, I used the issue to highlight a central theme of my campaign — namely, how I intend to turn problems into opportunities.

Immediately after the debate, I answered every question live over the Internet. Viewers interested in seeing and hearing my responses can visit my Web site: www.dotheimpossible08.com. (For the record, I’m the only candidate who would have voted against the recent farm bill. It is a monstrosity loaded with unnecessary subsidies to non-farmers and big agribusiness.)

America and Minnesota need leaders who can think differently and will respond proactively to problems. This small example of how my campaign is using technology creatively is just one indication of the innovation I will bring to the United States Senate.
