Car found with bullet holes Tuesday being investigated; Still no link to Sunday shooting

Police are still investigating a vehicle found along 10th Drive SE Tuesday, discovered to have bullet holes, trying to determine if it is related to a reported shooting Sunday night at Mandolin Place Apartments.

Police were called to the complex at 9:22 p.m. Sunday night after receiving a report of gunshots being fired. Two vehicle reportedly were seen fleeing the scene according to witnesses.

Eleven shell casings were found at the scene.  Three bullet holes were discovered in a car in the complex parking lot.

Another bullet was found in one of the buildings.

However Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger said Wednesday morning the car found Tuesday could not be linked to the Sunday case.

“We’re still talking to people involved to try and determine a link,” Krueger said. “It’s an ongoing investigation.”
