The United States Post Office is warning against a recently discovered phishing scam circulating around the Twin Cities and the surrounding area.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service, in a press release issued Tuesday, said that several customers received emails, notifying them that the U.S. Postal Service attempted to deliver a package, but was unable to do so.

The email will typically instruct its recipient to click on a link to print a delivery label, which they can take to their local post office to pick up the package. However, once the link is clicked on the recipients computer will get a virus which can log keystrokes and obtain things such as personal identifier information and account information.
