Get to Know: Austin hockey player Isaac Arnold

Isaac Arnold is a senior hockey player for the Packers, who open their season against Albert Lea 7 p.m. Thursday in Riverside Arena.
Q: What sports do you play?
A: Hockey and soccer.
Q: How did you originally get into hockey?
A: My family is made up of all hockey people and when I went to (current teammate) Kory Potach’s practice when I was little I knew I wanted to play.
Q: What’s your favorite sports memory?
A: Winning our home Bantam Tournament and just hanging out with the guys
Q: What have you learned from sports?
A: I’ve learned that you can only control two things — effort and attitude. In both athletics and life with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude anything is possible.
Q: What is the hardest part about hockey?
A: For me, the ability to maintain a positive attitude. The game itself is fast and brutal. You’re going to make a lot of mistakes, and maintaining the ability to roll with the punches is the only way to find success in this game.
Q: Who is your biggest sports role model and why?
A: My dad. My dad was a hockey player and a very good tennis player. He instilled in me a love for sports, the love of competition, and most of all, the value of an unparalleled work ethic.
Q: What is your favorite movie or TV show?
A: The Office.
Q: What is your favorite subject in school?
A: Business classes or Science.
Q: What is your dream job?
A: ESPN Analyst or the star actor for action movies such as James Bond.
Q: What is your favorite food?
A: Anything Chicken
Q: What are your plans after high school?
A: Attend a four year university.
Q: What’s a fun fact about you or hobby you enjoy most people don’t know about?
A: I’m no Jimi Hendrix but I really enjoy playing the guitar.
Q: What are your top three pump songs before a big game?
A: ‘No Sleep Till Brooklyn’ by the Beastie Boys, ‘Lay Down’ by Priestess and anything by Drake.
Q: What are your top three guilty pleasure songs?
A: Anything John Mayer.
