A traffic stop in Austin on Saturday night uncovered a stash of stolen jewelry.
Shain Lane, 46, of Austin, could face a number of charges after she was stopped at 9 p.m. for failing to stop at a stop sign and failing to signal on the 2100 block of Fourth Ave. SE, in Austin.
According to Police Chief Brian Krueger, officers found two bags in the car containing many items, including jewelry.
Further investigation found the description of the jewelry matched those allegedly taken from a storage unit in Leroy.
The owner identified the jewelry from photographs sent by the department.
Lane could be charged with receiving stolen property, a felony, said Krueger.
She was also arrested on potential charges of possession of a controlled substance, driving while under the influence, driving after revocation and possession of drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors.
The matter has been turned over to the Mower County Attorney’s office. Lane is being held in the Mower County Jail.
