Evelyn A. Dankert, 84, of Austin, Minnesota, died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, at Mayo Clinic Hospital Rochester, Saint Marys Campus.
Evelyn Ann Enright was born Nov. 18, 1932, in Austin on a large family farm, the daughter of Claude and Pearl (Gilliland) Enright. She was united in marriage to Donald Dankert on May 11, 1957, in Austin. She worked for the Geo A. Hormel Company in the Spam line. After the children arrived, she enjoyed being a homemaker, and was an independent woman. In her spare time, Evelyn enjoyed crossword puzzles, knitting sweaters, playing golf, and playing bingo at Mystic Lake Casino. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her children, James (Bridgette Reinsmoen) Dankert of St. Paul, Thomas (Sheri) Dankert of Austin and Susan (Rick Cole) Dankert of Playa Del Carmen, Mexico; four grandchildren, Erin, Jack, Vivienne and Theodore Dankert; four brothers, Scott Enright of Racine, Wisconsin, George Enright of Eyota, Minnesota, Edwin Enright of Garner, Iowa and Allen Enright of Ankeny, Iowa; two sisters, Norma Regner of River Falls, Wisconsin and Valeria Janeski of Longmont, Colorado; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald, in 2011; a brother, Charles Enright; and a sister, Doris Corbett.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, at the First United Methodist Church, with Pastor Dennis Tamke officiating. Interment will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at the Worlein Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
