The Austin girls hockey team lost 3-1 to Owatonna in Riverside Arena Thursday.

Sophomore Jaiden Schuster tied the game at 1-1 in the first period for the Packers (1-8 overall, 1-6 Big Nine) when she scored a shorthanded goal, but the Huskies (7-1 overall, 6-0 Big Nine) shut down Austin the rest of the way.

Owatonna took a 2-1 lead in the second period and it iced the game with at third period goal. Faith Sayles had 33 saves for the Packers, who had 18 shots on goal.
