AHS music department celebrates holidays with Monday concert

The music department at Austin High School will provide a celebration of the season with its annual Holiday Concert at 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 19, at the Knowlton Auditorium at the high school.
All large groups from choir, band and orchestra programs will perform music including “Carol of the Bells,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “White Christmas,” “The Winter’s Night,” “Sleigh Ride,” and holiday medleys from both the band and orchestra. The concert will finish with the traditional combined ensembles performing the “Hallelujah” chorus, and “Silent Night,” sung in Spanish and English.
There is pre-concert music beginning at 6:20 p.m. in the commons and on stage with the Chamber Orchestra, Choralaires, Jazz Band and Austinaires.
Activity passes will be honored. Cost at the door is $7 for adult sand $5 for students.
