Busy Christmas week awaits at Senior Center

Merry Christmas to all!
Help us celebrate this week by attending our many activities:
•Monday, 2 p.m.: Rebecca Earl, sales director of Primrose Retirement Communities, will present on the benefits of Senior Living in regards to healthy living and enjoying your golden years. Rebecca is passionate for the well-being of seniors in the Austin community and during her tenure at Primrose, she has been able to use that passion to create a vibrant activity calendar as the life enrichment coordinator and also touch the lives of many seniors as the sales director.
•Tuesday, 9 to 11 a.m.: If you are in need of toe nail trimming, the Senior Center is doing foot clinics and has a registered nurse coming in to help you. Jane is taking appointments. She will be back once a month to make sure your feet are pampered. Price for the service is $25 for a half-hour foot care session, which includes a trim, soak and massage. Please make your appointment by stopping by the front desk or calling 507-433-2370. Everyone is welcome. Hope to see you there.
•Wednesday, 1 to 3 p.m.: You are cordially invited to the Mower County Senior Center for Christmas treats and lots of Christmas spirit for our Christmas Open House. The Center’s Evie’s Travel, Stitching Bees and Wood Carvers will be here displaying items they have made through-out the year. Both groups are always looking for new interested people. There will be appetizers and hot drinks in the coffee shop. Bring a friend!
•Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.: The Senior Center bake sale returns. Leave the baking to us. Get your fresh homemade cookies, bars and sweets, treats for you and your guests over the holidays.
•Thursday, 2 p.m.: John Haymond will visit the center for our next history lesson. Finally the election is over. Weren’t you tired of TV’s, newspaper, and social medial filled with negative ads? Surprising enough this wasn’t the only election in history with unrest. Join John in December as he talks about “The Uncivil and Contentious History of American Presidential Elections.” We know this election will go down in history but it isn’t the only one of its kind. Please sign up by stopping by the front desk or calling 433-2370. Everyone is welcome! Hope to see you there.
You may not be old now, but if you’re lucky, one day you will be. We look forward to seeing you at our many programs at the Senior Center. Don’t forget our coffee shop where every day you can have homemade soup for $1 and sandwich for 50 cents. Don’t forget Tuesday is hotdish day. We are having Tator tot hotdish for only $2. You are always welcome at the center. See you here!
