Man facing drug charges for selling

A drug convict has been charged with narcotics crimes for allegedly selling cocaine to a confidential police informant in May and June, and for trace amounts of drugs allegedly found at his Austin home during a search warrant May 15.

Job Gallardo Talamantes Jr., 40, will face one count of first-degree drug sale and two counts of second-degree drug sale. The criminal complaint said the defendant was convicted in 1998 of a felony drug crime while living in Lincoln, Neb.

According to the complaint, police executed a search warrant May 15 at Talamantes’ home, 1208 Second Ave. N.W., where they found drug paraphernalia and trace amounts of cocaine.

Talamantes was allegedly later recorded by police selling 7.19 grams of cocaine to the informant May 26, and another 3.5 grams June 24.
