Austin is getting ready to bid adieu to 2016 and welcome in 2017 with a busy Saturday.

First, the Austin Bruins will host a New Year’s Eve game when the team plays the Minnesota Wilderness at 7:05 p.m. at Riverside Arena.

Then several Austin establishments will ring in the New Year.  The Austin Veterans of Foreign Wars club will host Ventura Highway, a band known for playing 1970s radio hits, starting at 9 p.m., and The Eagles club will host a country show.

Several other establishments have New Year’s activities planned, including Torge’s Live Sports Pub & Grill, which will host a midnight champagne toast and is running a limited bus party package in conjunction with the Bruins game.
