The LeRoy-Ostrander boys basketball team couldn’t hold on to a halftime lead as it lost 55-46 to Schaeffer Academy (8-2 overall, 6-1 SEC) in LeRoy Thursday.

The Cardinals (1-7 overall, 0-5 SEC) held a 26-20 advantage at the break, but the Lions were able to chip away at that lead and pull away late.

Seth Royston had 17 points as he hit five three-pointers for the Cardinals.

“Overall I’m happy with the effort,” LO head coach Trevor Carrier said. “Our defense is coming around. Schaeffer has a good team and things are looking bright. We’re getting much better.”
