Boys basketball: Vikings snap Zumbrota-Mazeppa’s winning streak

The Hayfield boys basketball team rained a flurry of early three-pointers as it stepped up and ended Zumbrota-Mazeppa’s nine-game winning streak in Hayfield Friday.
The Vikings (8-4 overall, 5-1 HVL) hit nine threes in the first half as they beat the Cougars (9-2 overall, 3-2 HVL) 71-62.
Hayfield’s Drew Olive finished with 28 points as he went 5-for-6 on threes and nine for nine on free throws.
“It was a big win for us,” Hayfield head coach Chris Pack said. “We were just on fire.”
