Ronald D. “Ronnie” Johnson Jr., 41, of Austin, Minnesota, died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017, at Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys Campus in Rochester, Minnesota.
He was born Aug. 19, 1975, in Austin, the son of Ronald Dean Sr. and Barbara Ann (Newman) Johnson. He lived his entire life in Austin where he enjoyed music, sports, especially the Minnesota Vikings, boating and waterskiing. Ronnie worked for Kiker Brothers, All Weather Roofing and Asbesterol, all in Austin.
Survivors include his children, Brittany Johnson of Rochester, and Dakota Johnson, Jori Johnson, Jack Johnson, Owen Johnson, Henry Johnson, Gracie Johnson and Avery Johnson, all of Austin; his parents, Ronald Sr. and Barbara Johnson; brothers, William (Michelle) Johnson and Chris Johnson, both of Austin; sisters, Angela Johnson and Barbi Larson, both of Austin; his grandmother, Jurine Johnson of Albert Lea, Minnesota; several aunts and uncles; and great-aunts and uncles.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ardis Newman; his grandfather, Roland Johnson; his uncles, Stanley Johnson, Robert Newman, Dennis Newman, and Norman Skauge; his aunt and uncle LaVonne and Earl Dahmen; cousins and other family members; and his godfather, Donald Tuttle.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at Salvation Army Chapel in Austin with Lt. David Amick and Lt. Laura Amick officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the Salvation Army. Burial will be at a later date.
