Two wolves escaped from a Hayfield, Minn., compound may still be at large, according to Mower County Sheriff Terese Amazi, who said the two have been wandering the median of Interstate 90 feeding on deer carcasses.
“I wouldn’t say they’re dangerous, but don’t get out of your car and try to pet them,” she said, adding that the wolves have only a trace of canine blood.
The animals have been in the region for two weeks, she said, and may have a litter of pups.
She doesn’t know if the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources have detained the wolves yet.
