A winter storm warning remains in effect until 6 p.m. after more than six inches fell across the area overnight.

As of midnight, the Austin area had received about 6 inches of snow, according to The National Weather Service in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

An additional 3 to 5 inches of snow was expected today.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation listed local roads as completely covered.
