William ‘Wild Bill’ McAnally, 91

William “Wild Bill” McAnally, 91 of Austin, Minnesota, died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017, at Mayo Clinic Health System Austin.
He was born July 23, 1925, in Austin to John W. and Clara (Robinson) McAnally. Bill attended Austin Public Schools and was active in Golden Gloves boxing. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Bill was united in marriage to Lenora Morris on Sept. 29, 1949. He held several jobs over the years in Austin, including street maintenance for the city of Austin, working as a truck driver, as a custodian at Riverland Community College and at the Salvation Army. He and Nora made many trips to California. While living in Long Beach, California, Bill was head painter at the hospital there.
Survivors include his five step-grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his, wife Lenora; his brothers, John, James, Joseph, Patrick, Paul and David; and step-sons, Robert and Harold Shaman. Bill will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, at Oakwood Cemetery with military honors by VFW Post 1216 and American Legion Post 91.
