The Austin boys basketball team got out and ran to a 91-74 win over Kasson-Mantorville (7-11 overall) on the road Monday.
The Packers (17-1 overall) trailed 22-12 early on, but they took a five-point lead into halftime and they opened the second half on an 11-0 run. Duoth Gach went 7-for-10 on three-pointers as he had 29 points for Austin. Both Gach had 20 points and eight assists and Oman Omoan had nine points, 11 rebounds and three assists.
“We got off to a horrible start defensively,” Austin head coach Kris Fadness said. “Kasson pushed the tempo hard and the first half was very fast paced with a lot of quick shots. It was probably a fun game for fans to watch because defense was at your own discretion.”
