Agnes Katherine Anderson, 103, of Renville, Minnesota, formerly of Austin, Minnesota, died on Thursday, March 2, 2017, at the RenVilla Nursing Home in Renville.
Agnes Katherine Anderson was born on Jan. 3, 1914, at her family’s home in Hollandale, Minnesota, to Peter Christine and Christine (Lasson) Nelson. She lived in a number of different areas in southern Minnesota and raised her family there. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the VFW Auxiliary, both in Austin, Minnesota. In her early years, Agnes worked as a waitress, and in her later years, she provided childcare. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo, making quilts and dolls, and braiding rugs. She also enjoyed fishing and taking trips to the casino.
She is survived by her three daughters, Joyce Krueger of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Pat (and Albert) Pule of Grants Pass, Oregon, and Janice Morgan of Danube, Minnesota; 15 grandchildren; 13 great -grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; her son, Albert “Sonny” Curtis; four grandsons; and her nine siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at Zion United Methodist Church in Danube. The Rev. Keith Mercer will officiate. Burial will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Grandview Cemetery in Austin, Minnesota. Visitation will be one hour on Tuesday prior to the services at the church in Danube.
