Margery L. Wencl, 96, of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, died Friday, March 3, 2017, at Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota.

Margery Louise was born on May 26, 1920, in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, to Stephen and Amelia (Skalisky) Severson. She graduated with the class of 1938 from Blooming Prairie High School. Margery was united in marriage to Louis Wencl on Sept. 22, 1938, in Austin, Minnesota. They made their home and raised their family in Blooming Prairie.

Margery was a talented seamstress, great cook and baker, and enjoyed gardening. She was known for her fantastic homemade pies. Following her husband’s passing in 1999, Margery continued to reside in Blooming Prairie until 2006 when she moved to Owatonna, Minnesota, due to health concerns.

Margery is survived by her four daughters, Roxanne (Larry) Pedersen of Bloomington, Minnesota, Rosalee (Roald) Storvick of Austin, Charlotte (Keith) Gillette of Brownsdale, Minnesota, and Terri (Stanley) Norland of Blooming Prairie; eight grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Louis; and sister Delores Renchin.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Tamke officiating. The Wencl family will greet friends on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Blooming Prairie Cemetery.
