Alumni Update: BP’s Hagen will play in NCAA tourney

Blooming Prairie grad Taylor Hagen will play in the Division I NCAA women’s basketball tournament for No. 10 seeded University of Northern Iowa against No. 7 DePaul University on ESPN2 11 a.m. Friday.
Hagen and the Panthers earned an at-large bid to the national tournament after they lost the MVC championship 74-69 in OT to Drake March 12. Hagen played nine minutes and grabbed three rebounds in that loss.
Hagen, a 6-1 sophomore, is averaging 14.8 minutes, 3.9 points and 2.7 rebounds per game for the Panthers (24-8 overall).
Austin grad Gach Gach recently wrapped up his two-year career with the North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, ND.
NDSCS finished 31-2 overall after it had its season end in a 71-68 loss in the District Title game against Indian Hills Wed. 8.
Gach had 11 points and seven rebounds in that game and he finished the season averaging 15.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists, while shooting 40.7 percent three-pointers. Gach has scholarship offers from multiple Division II schools and he’s likely to make his college decision in May.
