Man arrested, facing charges of drug sales

A 45-year-old Austin man arrested Tuesday for allegedly selling drugs to a confidential informant three different times near an Austin school is facing six felonies.
Dion Edward Wadley appeared in Mower County District Court Thursday for three counts of selling heroin in a school zone and three counts of third-degree sale of a narcotic, all felonies.
According to court records and Austin police, Wadley sold drugs to a confidential informant who was wearing a wire and turned over 1.49 grams, 0.27 grams and 0.34 grams of heroin to police after three purchases in January and February.
One of the sales took place with one child in the residence, and another took place with two children in the residence.
After the purchases, police executed a search warrant of Wadley’s residence in the 1800 block of East Oakland Avenue after a two-month investigation at 1:52 p.m. on March 21.
Staff of nearby Neveln Elementary School was notified of the search warrant to ensure the safety of the students.
Wadley is next due in court on April 6.
