The Hayfield Vikings got to the Faribault Bethlehem Academy Cardinals early and often Friday night, getting the 15-3 win in five innings in Faribault.
Brady Dahl picked up the win, overcoming some early struggles to get the win. He pitched four innings, gave up three earned runs off of three hits, walked two and struck out three.
“Brady struggled with his control early on but really settled in and threw a nice game from there on out,” said head coach Kasey Krekling.
Dahl also had a good day at the plate going three-for-four with two doubles and four RBIs. Lane Canny was three-for-five with two runs and Zach Nelson was two-for-four with two RBI.
The Vikings (2-0) will host Kasson-Mantorville on Monday in Hayfield.
