Lynn Rodney Christianson, 69

Lynn Rodney Christianson, 69, of Burnsville, Minnesota, died Thursday, April 6, 2017, at his home in Burnsville.

Lynn was born March 23, 1948, in Austin, Minnesota, the son of Almer and Stella (Johnson) Christianson. He was baptized and confirmed at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church. He attended school in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, graduating in 1966. He then attended the Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis to become an electrician. He was an active member of IBEW Local Union 292 and worked for various firms around the Twin Cities, on everything from power plants to doorbells. On Aug. 2, 1969, he was united in marriage to Charlene Cummings. They made their home in Burnsville. Lynn enjoyed all things electrical and loved to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was an active member of his Harley Owners Group. The couple shared many enjoyable trips to Disney World in Florida where they owned their condo. Over the years, they had 70 daycare children and 30 foster care children, including Ricky, Jerry and Sheila, with whom they maintained a special lifelong relationship. Charlene died on January 2, 1994.

Lynn is survived by two brothers, Alan (Lois) Christianson of Surprise, Arizona, and Brian (Donna) Christianson of Seven Lakes, North Carolina; three sisters, Ann (David) Bardouche of El Paso, Texas, Jean Lee of Blooming Prairie and Sharon (David) Fogal of Laguna Woods, California; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews and an aunt, Ethel Christianson of Blooming Prairie. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Charlene; and two sisters, Ramona Mace and Phyllis Jacobson.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Grandview Cemetery.  Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
