A local railroad is already operational following a 12-car derailment just north of Austin Monday, according to a company spokesperson.

Herb Jones of Iowa, Chicago and Eastern Railroad Corporation said the company is still investigating the cause of the accident, which resulted in no injuries.

Jones said that rail service was restored Monday night, and that the affected cars were returned to tracks early Tuesday.
