Boys golf: Bawek leads the field as Packers get a split

The Austin boys golf team split a pair of duals in its home meet in Austin Country Club Monday.
The Packers finished with a team score of 367 as it beat Faribault, which shot a 374, and lost to Mankato West, which shot a 333.
Noah Bawek shot an 80 to lead the Packers and he had the lowest score of the day between the three teams.
Austin’s score on Monday was seven strokes better than its previous best score.
“We got better today and we’re still trending in the right direction,” Austin head coach Matt Raso said. “We’re trying to get in the 350s soon.”
