The Austin Packers tennis team competed in the Big 9 tennis tournament Saturday.

Two Packer singles player reached the quarterfinals. Josh Brehmer opened up with a win in the first round at No. 2, 6-2, 6-2.

At No. 3 Chris Kirchgatter also reached the quarterfinals with a 6-2, 6-3 win.

In double actions the No. 2 doubles team of Bryar Flanders and Luke Goodew won 6-2, 6-2 to open the tournament and at No. 3 doubles Todd Weaver and Logan Braaten made the quarterfinals with a 6-2, 6-4 win.

“Great day of tennis in Rochester today,” said head coach Jeff Anderson. “We played some very good matches today with all but one player getting at least one win. Hugh Olson lost both of his matches in third set tie breakers.”

The team portion of the tournament will be held Tuesday.
