Stephanie J. Vollum, 66, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, in Albert Lea, Minnesota.
Stephanie Jill Vollum was born on Oct. 23, 1950, to Gordon and Vera (Bugg) Upton in Maitland, New South Wales, Australia. She became a midwife and RN and loved to travel and moved to Albert Lea in 1979 to marry Charles Vollum after meeting on the Yankee Clipper, where she was the ship’s RN.
Stephanie was also a fully qualified QRC as well as an active member in the community, including the American Red Cross as an RN/Disaster Nurse, a foster home for cats for the Humane Society, Albert Lea High School as a substitute nurse and the Fountain Lake Bookstore.
She was a loving mother and mother-in-law to Cheyene, Simone and Robert and loved Nana of Cameron. She was also a devoted sister and sister-in-law to David and Kathy, Penny and Michael, Anthony and Judy; and a dearly missed aunty to Samara, Leah, Jannah, Michaela, Natalie, Darren, Christopher and their families.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at the Bonnerup Funeral Chapel, Albert Lea. Father Russell Scepaniak will officiate. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.
