The Austin boys golf team finished 11th out of 12 teams on the first day of the Section 1AAA meet in Lake City Thursday.

The Packers shot a 361 and they were led by Matias Parada and Noah Bawek, who each shot an 84 and are tied for 32nd in the field. Parada and Bawek will both compete in Saturday’s finals.

“They will look to go for broke to see if they can both have career days to have a chance to qualify for state,” Austin head coach Matt Raso said. “We will see what happens.”
