Alumni Update: Pacelli grad Holtz finishes a strong freshman year

Sarah Holtz, a 2016 graduate of Pacelli Catholic High School, had a successful first year at Luther College. She earned her first collegiate letters as a member of the Norse basketball team and track and field team.
As a member of the basketball team, she helped lead Luther to a record of 17-10, 12-4 in the Iowa Conference. She played in all 27 games and scored 222 points, shot 47.6% (88-185) and led the team in rebounding with 160.
In track, she specialized in multi-events, placing sixth at her first Iowa Conference Outdoor Championships in the Heptathlon. She posted a point total of 3,617 points. During the Heptathlon, she won the high jump with a height of 5-3 that also ranks ninth on Luther’s all-time list.
Holtz is the daughter of Scott and Carol Holtz of Austin, Minn.
TRACK AND FIELD
Southland grad Elizabeth May recently wrapped up her college track and field career for the University of Wisconsin La Crosse.
May ran on the 4 x 100-meter relay team for the Eagles in the Division III NCAA meet in Geneva, Ohio recently. The team missed out on the finals as it placed 10th with a time of 47.55 seconds.
