The Austin Bruins announced on Tuesday that ’97 forward and alternate captain Logan Haskins will begin his college career next season at Gustavus Adolphus, an NCAA DIII program in St. Peter.
Haskins appeared in 55 of the Bruins 60 games in 2016-17, scoring nine goals with eight assists. He scored a goal in his first NAHL game on September 18th, 2015 in Bismarck, the 2015-16 season opener. He played 24 games that season, totaling three points (2 goals, 1 assist).
The Rochester native played at Mayo High School for three seasons, from 2012-15, where he racked up 113 points in 71 career games. Haskins also spent part of the 2014-15 season with the Rochester Ice Hawks.
Haskins has been a staple in the Austin community, since arriving at Riverside Arena, leading the Bruins in service hours each of the last two seasons, and as a result is the two-time winner of the Bruins “Community Service Award.”
“I loved my time in Austin and really enjoyed every second,” Haskins said. “I became a better person both on and off the ice. I want to say thank you to the coaches and staff for the opportunity and for everything they have done for me.”
The Gustavus Golden Gusties play in the MIAC (Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference), where they are 14-time champions, most recently in 2010. Haskins will join former teammate Robbie Goor (Bruins goaltender from 2015-2016) at Gustavus Adolphus.
