The Austin All Stars Jays 10-year-old team was the only Austin team to place in the 39th annual Austin All Stars Tournament over the weekend.
The Jays beat Eden Prairie for third place medals.
Isaac Anderson, Easton Meyer, Tayte Berg, Dana Schara,
Logyn Brooks and Brandon Kuhnke led the hitting for the Stars and Cale Tupy, Gahvin Schafer, Meyer, Kuhnke, Berg and Anderson pitched.
“We scored a lot of runs this weekend, but we came up a bit short in a couple of games, and we hope this will continue into the state tourney,” said coach Troy Schafer.
Austin Local 9 and Austin CMG All Stars played well in the tourney but failed to place.
“We had a very successful tourney” said tourney chairman Brian Lillis.
“We are already planning for next years 40th annual. We are planning some major events for that tourney and will be working closely with the CVB to make it outstanding.”
