Spam is coming home — in a tiny house
Hormel Foods Corp.’s Spam Tiny House of Sizzle is coming to Austin Freedom Fest on Tuesday. Festival goers at Bandshell Park will be able to get free food from the Spam Tiny House of Sizzle, which will be at the park giving out free “spamples.”
The truck will be at Bandshell Community Park on Fourth Street and Ninth Place Southwest.
Over the summer, the Spam Brand has been crossing the country on a food tour aimed at those who have never tried Spam. But instead of a food truck, as in the previous “Spamerican Tour,” Hormel Foods Corp. rolled out Spam in a tiny house.
During this coast-to-coast culinary journey, attendees have been treated to Spam favorites, including: Spam sliders, Spam musubi and Spam fries — all served from the tiny Spam kitchen.
The truck will provide free samples of the tour’s signature dish, a spicy Spam breakfast burrito by celebrity Chef Jordan Andino.
T-shirts will also be available for purchase on the tour. All proceeds from the T-shirt sales will go toward Convoy of Hope, an organization that provides food for people in the wake of natural disasters.
Spam is making it easy for anyone to help out. Simply text SIZZLE to 50555 to donate $5 to Convoy of Hope.
