Jimmy John’s claims to have “Freaky Fast” delivery — and one motorist decided to put the motto to the test during a recent evening rush hour on Interstate 35W.
A delivery man for the sandwich chain delivered dinner to a driver whose truck was stalled and blocking a northbound lane of the interstate in Arden Hills on July 2, the Minnesota State Patrol said Sunday in a Facebook post.
“Apparently [the man] couldn’t wait to eat,” the State Patrol said.
A trooper rolled up on the stalled truck near County Road E2 at 5:18 p.m. and helped the driver move it out of the way and into a nearby parking lot.
But the driver had a suspended license and was about to be handed a ticket. That’s when Jimmy John’s showed up with dinner.
“I asked him what he needed,” the trooper wrote in his incident report. “Driver for Jimmy John’s said someone from this address ordered Jimmy John’s.”
The driver “stuck his head out the window of his truck and said, ‘that was me,’ “ the trooper wrote. “I guess Jimmy John’s really does deliver anywhere and fast!!”
The driver was cited for driving with a suspended licence.
