An Austin man who made terroristic threats towards his ex-girlfriend in April has pleaded guilty.
David Michael Mattson-Fuller, 19, pleaded guilty to felony terroristic threats-reckless disregard risk as part of a plea agreement in Mower County District Court on Monday. Charges for felony fifth-degree assault and felony domestic assault were dropped.
According to court reports, Mattson-Fuller was arrested on April 26 after allegedly hitting his ex-girlfriend while she was at a friend’s house in the 1000 block of First Place Northeast. When police arrived they found the victim shaken with blood around her mouth and a swollen lip.
Police were called to the victim’s place of employment the next day, where she showed them profanity-laced texts she received from Mattson-Fuller. In them, he threatened the victim with violence if she did not drop the charges against him.
Police then went to a house in the 100 block of Second Street Southeast, where the victim said he was staying, and arrested him.
Mattson-Fuller will be sentenced on Sept. 28.
