Barbara Ann Johannsen, 78 of Austin died Sunday June 5, 2011, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester.

Ann was born Sept. 28, 1932, at Austin, the daughter of William C. and Laura L. (Groom) Pribble. She graduated from Austin High School and Winona State University. Ann was married to Robert E. Johannsen on Jan. 1, 1953, at Austin. They resided in Austin and she was a teacher with the Austin Public Schools.
Ann was a member of the First Congregational Church and Unity Chapter 29 Order of the Eastern Star. She had several hobbies including needlepoint, knitting, sewing and playing bridge. In her retirement, Ann has traveled extensively around the world.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert E. Johannsen and a granddaughter, Rachael.
Ann is survived by her children, Brent A. Johannsen (Theresa) Chouteau, Okla., Sarah J. Johannsen (Wolfgang) of Waldems, Germany; Robert D. Johannsen of Austin; grandchildren, Anna Doyle (James), Michelle Johannsen and Max Johannsen; two great-grandchildren.
There will be a memorial gathering 2 p.m. Thursday June 9, 2011, in the Fellowship Hall of the First Congregational Church, 1910 3rd Ave. NW. A private family interment was held at Oakwood Cemetery. The family prefers memorials to the American Cancer Society. Clasen-Jordan Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
