Lorraine Doris Arens, 86, of Austin, died Saturday, June 4, 2011, at her home.

Lorraine was born Dec. 21, 1924, in Forest City, Iowa, to Clifton and Lila (Olson) Baker. On Nov. 30, 1940, she was united in marriage to Lawrence J. “Bud” Arens at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin. He preceded her in death on May 6, 1981.

Lorraine was a retired employee of Hormel Foods and a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church. She enjoyed her ladies card club, flowering, the casino, watching her birds, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her three children, Barb Harmon of Oakdale, Larry (Linda) Arens of Austin, Greg Arens of Austin; seven grandchildren, Gina, Heidi, Mike, Todd, Holly, Eric, Aaron; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; a niece and nephew.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lyle Baker; granddaughter, Kelly; son-in-law, Jim Harmon; daughter-in-law, Sinthia.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Father Dale Tupper officiating. There will be a 5:30 p.m. wake service on Tuesday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. and also one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Queen of Angels Catholic Church.
