A Brownsdale man in whose trailer police allegedly found drugs and several weapons has pleaded not guilty to felony charges.

William Howard Grever, 52, pleaded not guilty Thursday in Mower County District Court to two counts of violent felon in possession of a firearm, violent felon in possession of ammunition and fifth-degree drug possession.

According to the court report, police went to the Vista Village Mobile Home Park on Aug. 1 after a woman reported that Grever was “going nuts” and running around the park with a machete and yelling at a resident in one of the trailers. Other witnesses told police they saw Grever carrying an object that looked like a weapon.

A woman told police Grever had been acting “a little weird lately” and that he believed several men in the trailer park were sleeping with his wife.

Grever claimed he thought the man living in the trailer he yelled at was sleeping with his wife, but he had no intention of hurting anyone.

Grever told police he had a nine-millimeter handgun in his trailer. Police executed a search warrant and found several weapons and 63.5 grams of marijuana.

Grever will appear in court for a pre-trial on
Dec. 1.
